As an artist, having the right tools at your disposal can make all the difference in the success of your music release. At Random Sounds, we're excited to share the latest updates from Spotify that can help you maximize your reach and engagement with your fans. As of July 24, these new features are available for eligible accounts using Spotify for Artists. Here's a breakdown of what's new and how they can benefit your music career:
Analytics Pre-Release: Track Your Progress
Spotify's Countdown Page feature has received a significant upgrade, making it easier than ever to track your pre-release metrics. Once your Countdown Page is published, you and your team willl be able to view pre-release stats directly under the Release page in Spotify for Artists. This includes:
- All-time Pre-saves and Impressions
Monitor the total number of pre-saves and impressions your release is generating, and visualize these numbers over time.
- Comparison Tools
Easily compare your pre-release performance with your album's overall performance.
Additionally, you'll continue to receive email updates with key metrics like the Pre-saves to Stream % and Total Pre-saves. And soon, Spotify will enhance post-release reporting to include week 1 insights, giving you valuable data on your pre-save to stream conversion rate in the first seven days. These reports will also be accessible on mobile, so you can stay updated on the go.
Improved Distribution in the Consumer App
Spotify is expanding the reach of Countdown Pages, making them more accessible to listeners. Your fans will be able to discover your Countdown Pages not only from your artist page but also from multiple touchpoints, including the Home screen, Artist Headlines, and the Now Playing view. This increased visibility ensures that your upcoming releases get the attention they deserve.
Playable Singles on Countdown Pages
Previously, when the "Show Tracklist" setting was turned off on a Countdown Page, no tracklist information was displayed, and fans couldn't play any released songs from the album. Now, Spotify is enhancing this feature. If a tracklist is hidden, the song titles will be shown as generic "Track X" titles, but any released music will display the actual track name and be playable in the tracklist section. This means your fans can enjoy your music as soon as it's available, even if you're keeping some details under wraps.
New Clips Upload Flow Integration
For artists with access to Clips (those with over 700,000 monthly listeners), Spotify is introducing a new, music-first Clips upload model. This allows you to add Clips tied to either a Countdown Page or an upcoming or released song. It's a fantastic way to engage your audience with short, engaging video content that complements your music.
At Random Sounds, we're committed to helping our community of artists succeed and love to do it using helpful data. These new features from Spotify provide valuable tools to boost your music's visibility and engagement. Make sure to leverage them to their fullest potential and keep your fans excited about your upcoming releases!
